NIGHT AUDITOR: UZ VN HOTEL AND LEISURE (1 POST)
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
Balance and consolidate front office accounting records
Ensure proper handover takeover of Front Office/Cashier duties
Prepare summaries of financial data on daily basis
Verify all room rates segments and sort codes
Comply with statutory requirements
Respond to all calls according to UZ Inn standards
Handle guests complaints
Post guest charge purchase transactions not posted by the Front Office Cashier (complete outstanding postings, transfers and deposits to the master accounts).
Verify (audit all account postings, balance and close out accounts)
Track room revenue percentages and other front office statistics
Reconcile room status discrepancies
Pull out all city ledgers and route them accordingly
Prepare arrivals and allocate rooms
Distribute reports making sure a copy of each report goes to the Front Office Supervisor
Record the night’s activities in the management report diary
Backup the system and record accordingly
Monitor the current complementary status and other discounted rates
Verify no show reservations and cancel all non-guaranteed bookings
Learn the fire and safety procedures and how to operate the firefighting equipment
Develop a strong knowledge about the hotel surroundings and inform the guests at check in and during their stay
Check guests in or out and attending to their requests
Responsible for the master key and the duty bunch
Report any irregularities or unusual circumstances to Management
Carry out any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Hotel Management or Operations/Business Management
A minimum of 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Maths.
A’ Level passes will be an added advantage.
Fluency in English Language
Knowledge of a foreign language would be a distinct advantage
Computer literacy is a must
At least 3 years’ experience as a Night Auditor at reputable establishments in the Hospitality Industry
