V.S. Nyangulu and Associates Legal Practitioners is a boutique legal advisory firm specialising in Commercial Law, Conveyancing and Estate Planning. The firm opened its doors on the 1stof October 1992, and over the last 30 years has become one of the leading indigenous law firms providing commercial law and conveyancing services in Zimbabwe. The firm has grown over the years and as such it is looking to recruit additional resources in the finance and administration department where this role is positioned.

The right person for this role is a detailed oriented individual who is good with numbers and technology and enjoys talking to people. A team player who is able to multi-task and also able to self-manage. Some experience working in a legal environment or property development company / estate agents would be an added advantage.

Role Title: Practice Assistant

Role function: Bookkeeping, Payroll, Accounts receivable and general administration

The role of Practice Assistant duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing accounts receivable
  • Produce income and expenditure and profit and loss
  • Audit receipting and other administrative procedures within the firm regularly
  • Ensure that trust accounts are managed as per the regulatory requirements
  • Support AML Monthly reporting
  • Make accurate payments monthly
  • Support the Human Resources function of the firm
  • Provide all other administrative support to the firm as may be required from time to time

The right candidate will have:

– 2-5 years experience as a bookkeeper/working in an office administration role

– Has some knowledge and experience using Trust and Business Ledgers

– Must be familiar with accounting software e.g. Quickbooks Online, Pastel and Belina Payroll systems.

– Proven experience in producing good books of accounts

– Must be diligent, well-spoken, polite, and presentable.

– Must have some experience supporting external audits

– Must be able to run an office administratively

– Previous experience working in a Law Firm, Property Development Firm or Estate Agents is an added bonus
