Role Overview
The Manager of Foreign Services for Zimbabwe’s Foreign Missions is a key leadership position which is mandated to address staffing needs for diplomatic missions through collaborating with stakeholders such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Office of the President and Cabinet, Treasury and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies represented at missions.
The ideal candidate should possess strategic leadership and advisory skills, change management expertise, strong negotiation and diplomacy skills and public sector reform experience to enhance Zimbabwe’s diplomatic presence through effective human capital management.
Requirements & Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree with a bias in Human Resources, Occupational Psychology or equivalent
A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage
A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience at Officer level or equivalent
Proven experience in Human Resources Management in the Public Sector
Strategic leadership and advisory skills, change management expertise
Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills
Proven public sector reform experience
Good analytical, organisational and counselling skills and capacity to multi-task
Knowledge of Public Service regulations, statutes and circulars
Practical knowledge of standard applications and software (MS Access, Word, Excel and HRMIS)
Knowledge of world dynamics is a prerequisite
Excellent written and oral skills in English and good working knowledge of at least one local language is an added
