Job Purpose
The Group Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of tasks such as budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, consolidations, maintaining regulatory compliance across all business units and ensuring the achievement of all financial deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate management accounts for each SBU and producing the Groups consolidated accounts by the stipulated date.
- Compiling and consolidating budgets for the Group and presenting the budgets for adoption by Executive Management.
- Maintain the group’s asset register by SBU and consolidation of the same.
- Responsible for cash flow management including the preparation of accurate cash flow projections.
- Preparing of monthly, quarterly, annual taxes returns including all Company returns and submitting to the relevant authorities in line with set deadlines.
- Addressing all audit issues raised in the department including developing and implementing effective internal controls and procedures.
- Responsible for stock taking and doing reconciliations across all retail branches and recommending improvements on stock management.
- Ensure that bills and statements are correctly raised and dispatched to the relevant clients timeously.
- Review all accounts receivables on regular basis to ensure completeness and accuracy of records.
- Monitor the budget and alert management on significant variances •
- Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas
Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a professional qualification in ACCA, CIS/CGI or CIMA.
- A Master’s degree will be an advantage.
