Main Purpose:

Overall administration, supervision and control of the financial accounting and reporting functions, resources and related information of a medium-sized Downstream oil legal entity.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a team of accountants in charge of Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Stock accounting and Fixed Assets

Coordinate the issuance of monthly reports and financial reports such as: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows, Weekly and Monthly Margins, Inventories Reconciliations, Debtor and Creditor lists, Budget Reports. Prepare reports weekly, monthly, and annually. Assist in development of budget.

Reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position.

Schedule monthly tax payments, Income Tax withholdings and any other tax related matters.

Keep control of such legal books and records of accounts as: General Ledger, Sales Records, Purchases Records, Inventory.

Coordinate, monitor, and execute independent audits, provide all necessary information for compliance on deadlines. Work closely with independent auditors during and preparing schedules for the annual audit.

Preparation of the Annual Financial Report including financial statements, notes, supporting schedules

Key Relationships and Department Overview:

Experience:

  • Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance with 4-5 years of experience in an industrial business.
  • Oil industry experience is preferred.
  • CPA or Post-graduate degree in accounting is preferred.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
