This is an operational role within the Supply Chain structure and responsible for the maintenance of Supply Chain practices and systems within an Operational Area to achieve work outputs.

The role must ensure that system policies and procedures are adhered to. It needs to co-ordinate outputs with other operations within the function and therefore has a role in supporting the optimisation of the whole function. The time frame for measuring the outputs from this role is normally between 3 months and one year.

Job Description

Performance & Delivery

Effective systems management of all Supply Chain processes / functions

  • Generation of accurate and timely supply chain reports
  • Checking for adherence and improvements of supply chain practices and procedures
  • Advisory to internal stakeholders on supply chain issues
  • Championing period reviews and assisting internal and external auditors
  • Analysis of inventory valuation, age, and procurement trends.
  • Assisting end users in drawing up and monitoring usages
  • Coordination of period stock takes
  • Recommending for provision slow moving and redundant stocks
  • Resolving of receipts, issues, and other queries from stakeholders
  • Carry out reconciliations of account, general ledger, and sub-ledger
  • Verify, ledgers and accounts for errors and make appropriate corrections
  • Monitoring of loaned items and prepayments
  • Random activity cost checks for Finance Manager e.g., allocation checks
  • Process month end journal vouchers

Support the Supply Chain team to achieve goals and objectives

  • Contribute to Supply Chain’s planning process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve function.
  • Support the management control of the Supply Chain function.
  • Participation in improvement projects within the Supply Chain function.
  • Support efforts to overcome operational problems.
  • Identify risks and threats to the Supply Chain process/functions proactively

Qualifications

  • Higher National Diploma in Accounting or related part qualification for CIMA, ACCA or CIS.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting role
  • Computer literacy for role, including SAP CO, ESSBASE and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role
  • Basic financial metrics, cost and value management & budgeting tools
  • Risk management techniques and critical controls
  • Leadership tools for implementing a culture of purpose–led high performance and change
