Job Description
• Implementing measures to avoid stock damages, theft, and wastage.
• Monitoring shelve stocks and product displays, and the general appearance of the store.
• Keeping records of expenditure, sales figures, and employee performance.
• Evaluating the supply and availability of stocks, and profit margins.
• Investigating market trends and offering products that would appeal to customers.
• Addressing customers’ requests, comments, and complaints.
• Training new staff members and scheduling shifts.
• Deal with all complaints, queries, and other related customer service issues.
• Set employee targets and appraise at the end of the performance cycle.
• Discipline, counsel, and coach employees to maintain positive result generation.
• Initiate corrective actions, analyze variance, schedule expenditure.
• Establish good rapport with existing and potential customers.
• Supervise and carry out the receiving of all stocks.
• Carry out monthly stock takes.
• Deal with all complaints, queries, and other related customer service issues.
• Assign and schedule tasks for specific employees and also follow up on the results they generate.
• Complete all the operational requirements of the store. Submit various reports on a periodic basis.
Educational qualifications
• A university degree or diploma in retail management, Business Management, Marketing and Accounting. Relevant professional qualification is considered
• At least 3 years’ experience in the field of retail or private sector.
• Good knowledge of retail industry and reporting requirements.
Required skills and Competencies
• Demonstrable experience in a supervisory capacity at a retail store, or similar.
• Extensive experience with preparing budgets, and financial, expense reports and stock management.
• In-depth knowledge of product and consumer trends, and marketing strategies.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
