POSITION SUMMARY

Reports to the Country Manager, the Techno-Commercial Officer is responsible for product development, registration and market development of innovative and unique products.

The position will be based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Product Development and Regulatory

  • Evaluate and ensure that registration documents follow national and international standards.
  • Package registration documents for submission with the government regulatory authorities to obtain experimental permits and products are registered as per development timeline.
  • Coordinate with accredited researchers to develop trial protocols and ensure that researches are timely implemented and approved protocols are strictly followed.
  • Ensure that permits, certificates and other documents are renewed and secured on time.
  • All other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Market Development

  • Plans, develops and implements marketing programs for business partners.
  • Analyzes provincial and national market information and trends and utilize market information and intelligence reports to develop business plans and strategies to expand product or market opportunities.
  • Develops and conducts seminars for product launches and trainings of frontliners of business partners on the features, benefits, advantages, proper use, etc. of innovative and unique products.
  • Collects industry information and maintains competitors and clients information databases, tracks market information needs, ongoing market strategies, and develops client profiles.
  • All other duties assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION

Graduate of bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Management or any related field.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in agrochemical industry with good understanding of product development and registration with the government regulatory agencies.
  • Deep involvement in sales and marketing with vast network with the agrochemical distributors, dealers and retailers.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Able to function independently; results oriented and detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, good attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve and work as part of a team.
  • Has a valid driver’s license.
  • Fluent in English.
