Job Summary
Cimas is a medical aid society whose purpose is to inspire healthier communities by providing global standard health and wellness solutions. In pursuant to this purpose, Cimas is searching for a Finance Manager – Reporting and Internal Controls to provide financial reporting and financial management services for the Cimas Group in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cimas Standard Operating Procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Conducts research into international standards and best practice in financial reporting for entities in the healthcare industry.
• Reviews regulatory returns prepared by the Business Unit Finance Managers prior to their submission in line with prescribed deadlines.
• Prepares Technical Papers discussing new developments in IFRS and provides recommendations
• Ensures that divisional financial statements (Flash and Final) are prepared in line with accounting standards
• Prepares the Group management and board packs, citing financial performance
• Monitors effective implementation of financial and non-financial controls within the group.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor of Accounting Degree or Equivalent.
• Chartered Accountant Zimbabwe, trained inside public practice.
• Experience with Accounting technical roles.
• 1-2 years management experience in a reputable Audit firm, with extensive exposure to Insurance, Medical Aid or Healthcare industries.
• Registered assessor with ICAZ.
Key Competencies
The ideal candidate should possess both clear verbal and written communication skills, with a capability to produce accurate reports. They should be able to analyze and solve work-related problems to achieve the correct outcomes. The ideal candidate must have the ability to interact, negotiate and achieve targets.
