Job Description
Cairns Foods Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post, which has arisen in our Sales Department at Cairns Foods Limited (Harare).
We are looking for a passionate sales executive to join our sales team. The sales executive’s responsibilities include generating leads, making sales calls, continuously updating our CRM database, and meeting sales targets.
To be successful as a sales executive you should be an inspired self-starter and able to drive sales growth. Ultimately, a top-notch sales executive should be able to build rapport with customers and close sales.
The Job
- Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the successful applicant will among other key duties be responsible for:
- Leading the development and implementation of the Company’s sales strategy and ensuring alignment to the overall business plan to sustain business growth and profitability.
- Formulating business strategies responsive to changes in the market environment.
- Formulating and implementing the public relations and customer service strategy that will portray a good image of the company at all times and enhance customer service standards.
- Reviewing and approving regional Sales activities to ensure attainment of business plan objectives.
- Monitoring competitor activities for competitive advantage.
- Supervising Sales Managers on a daily basis through daily briefs and performance update reports.
- Leading the sales team to achieve customer retention by providing efficient customer service.
- Providing leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff to ensure departmental targets are achieved.
- Ensuring that all consumer and network sales, debtors and margins meet budgeted targets.
- Developing, implementing and monitoring the Sales (income and expenditure) budget to ensure it is within approved limits.
- Providing accurate financial information for the Sales Department to Senior Management to monitor performance.
- Engaging, developing, deploying and retaining talented staff including completing performance appraisals and personal development effectively and on time in accordance with the established performance management system.
- Formulating and planning the department’s annual budget within the context of the Company’s overall budget.
- Developing, reviewing, implementing and monitoring the Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance.
- Submitting various reports, proposals and sales budgets to the Chief Operations Officer and the board for review and guidance on an ongoing basis.
THE PERSON
- The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
- An Honours Degree in Business Management, Marketing or related fields.
- Relevant Masters Degree will be an advantage.
- 5 years relevant experience at Senior Management level preferably in an FMCG environment.
- Clean class four (4) driver’s licence.
