Business Incubation and Development Manager

RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

Duties include:

• Developing, executing and owning an operational and engagement strategy for the entire community including donors, start-ups, investors, corporates, mentors, advisors, and domain experts.
• Developing, executing and owning an operational and engagement strategy for the entire community including donors, start-ups, investors, corporates, mentors, advisors, and domain experts.
• Designing and managing Incubation and Acceleration programs.
• Providing high-quality coaching and advisory support! and start-ups in business development fundraising activity.
• Qualifying and evaluating applicants for creativity, innovation, acceleration and investment stage.
• Managing the day-to-day interaction with the incubatees.
• Providing support to entrepreneurs across ideation, acceleration, investment and scale-up stage.
• Ensuring tight management of milestones and progress of entrepreneurs and start-up companies.
• Developing and implementing new initiatives for incubation service offerings to entrepreneurs and start-ups.
• Growing the brand equity of the Incubator Forum.
• Assisting entrepreneurs in proposal writing, pitch deck, business development, fundraising as well as relevant linkages to established companies for business opportunities.
• Developing and leveraging industry, academia, investors and institutional networks for the benefit of the incubation program.
• Developing and managing a network of entrepreneurs, start-ups, mentors, institutions, funding agencies, investors and industries.

Qualifications and Experience

• The ideal candidate must have at least five “0” Level passes including English Language and Mathematics, and a Master’s degree in Business Management and Administration or equivalent.
• A PhD, PMP/Prince2 qualification is an added advantage.
• The successful candidate should have at least 5 years” of relevant working experience, good interpersonal and leadership skills and possess vast knowledge of business development strategies, experience and awareness of governance, and financial & risk management.
• The candidate should be proactive and be able to work according to strategic direction.
• The candidate should also have experience working on a portfolio of products and securing new business while retaining existing business within a competitive environment.
