ASSISTANT BUTCHER: SUPPORT SERVICES DEPARTMENT; CATERING SERVICES 1 POST)
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
Sharpen and adjust knives and cutting equipment.
Receive, inspect and store meat upon delivery.
Cut, debone or grind pieces of meat.
Weigh meat
Cut or prepare meats to specifications.
Store meat in freezers at required temperature.
Issue out approved orders.
Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health, safety and sanitization standards.
Carry out periodic stock takes.
Report any malfunctioning equipment to superiors immediately.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of five (5) Ordinary Level Passes including English Language.
At least 2 years working experience in a butchery, abattoir or related food industry.
