Duties and Experience
Reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor and responsible for.
- Review of systems and internal controls.
- Managing and allocating duties to the Audit interns or Graduate Trainees.
- Supervision and training of subordinates.
- Assessing internal controls and recommending improvements to systems.
- Assisting internal controls and recommending improvements to systems.
- Assisting the Chief Internal Auditor in areas pertaining to organizational risk and compliance.
- Participating in full audit cycles including risk assessment and checking compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Determining internal audit scope and developing annual plans.
- Obtaining analyzing and evaluating accounting documentation, previous reports, data flowcharts, etc.
- Preparing and presenting reports that reflect audit results and document process.
- Acting as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality, and goal achievement.
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend risk aversion measure and cost savings.
- Documenting process and preparing audit findings memorandum for the Chief Internal Auditor
- Conducting follow-up audits to monitor management ‘s interventions
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Internal Auditing , Accounting or Business Studies
- Membership of the Professional Associations (CGPA/CIS ICAZ, ACCA, CIMA, IIA, SAAA, or IAC) is an added advantage.
- 5 years of work experience in an internal audit environment. University environment experience is an added advantage.
