Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for overseeing the execution of financial, stores, assets, transport and administrative management of the Agency to ensure that its objectives are achieved.
Qualifications, experience, attributes and competences
- First degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration majoring in Accounting and Finance from a reputable university.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Membership to professional accounting bodies such as ACCA and CPA.
- At least 10 years of progressive and professional accounting experience, preferably in a relatively large institutional set up, of which at least 5 years should have been in a senior management role related to accounting and finance.
- Good leadership and managerial skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Open minded, decisive and approachable
- Certification in IPSAS an added advantage.
- Computer literate and conversant with SAP.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop/review Finance and Administration Policy and Procedure Manuals in line with statutes and current developments.
- Financial planning, program – based budgeting including resource mobilization and monitoring to ensure the successful discharge of the mandate of the Agency.
- Set up effective systems and controls to ensure production of timely, relevant and accurate quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure safe custody and maintenance of assets including transport to facilitate effective discharge of field and other Agency operations.
- Oversee management of stores, office space and all administrative functions of the Agency.
- Liaison with internal and external Auditors.
