Job Description

The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) is a regulatory body in Zimbabwe responsible for overseeing the production and marketing of tobacco.

The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill in the Graduate Trainee position that has arisen within the company. Successful candidates will undergo an intensive graduate trainee programme for a period of 24 Months and will be based at TIMB Head office in Harare.

The Graduate Trainee – Accounts will work with the finance team to ensure that the company’s financial records are accurate and up-to-date. The successful candidate will undergo an intensive graduate trainee programme for a period of 24 months.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the finance team to ensure the accuracy of the company’s financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Ensuring daily capture of transactions in Palladium
  • Ensuring timely payment of creditors
  • Ensuring that accounting records are properly filled
  • Ensuring timely collection of debts
  • Preparing bank reconciliations and following up with bank queries
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Participate in the graduate trainee programme.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Aged below 25 years.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Numerical reasoning.
