Freda Rebecca Gold Mine is a leading mining company located in Bindura, Zimbabwe.
Our operations are focused on the extraction of high-grade gold ore and its processing into bullion, which is sold to the international market. We are committed to sustainable mining practices and community development.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
You will work closely with other departments to provide financial analysis and support for decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Prepares Financial statements in accordance with the IFRS and companies and other Business Entities Act
- Execute Payroll administration and maintenance
- Manages and supervises creditors, debtors, treasury and payroll sections and appraises performance on a quarterly basis
- Prepare and submit financial reports to management and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the financial operations of the company and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide financial advice and support to other departments as needed.
- Manage the financial reporting system, including the SAP system.
- Reviews tax computations and ensures statutory returns are filed on time
- Performs tax planning and research to ensure compliance and timely payments to ZIMRA
- Maintains good relations with the key finance stakeholders to ensure business continuity
- Manages insurance matters
- Any other duties as delegated by Finance Executive and Managing Director
- Manages exchange control compliance
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as full CA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- A post-graduate degree such as an MBA or equivalent will have an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a mining environment.
- Sound knowledge of SAP system.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
