Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support the planning, training and deployment of the right mix and profile of Examiners, Venue Supervisors and Venue Staff for Test Day delivery.  Ultimately responsible for supporting the Operations Resource Pool Manager to ensure resource availability, capability, contingency and pipeline to meet demand.

Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:

  • Support the execution of short term and long-term Resourcing Strategy (i.e. for staff and partners involved in delivery of exam products and services) devised by Operations and Commercial management.
  • Manages internal/external SLA’s (Service Level Agreements), with HR to ensure strong pipeline of skilled and motivated resource pool to support exams delivery.
  • Develops and advises on Performance Standards, Engagement Strategy and succession plan to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Takes end-to-end accountability for researching and obtaining satisfactory and timely resolution of complex/escalated customer (internal or external) operational complaints and issues, coordinating input from other colleagues/departments/managers as required, to do so.
  • Ensures the customer is kept informed throughout the process.
  • Advises on or directly engage with Venue Staff or Examiners when and issues/ complaints arise to provide solutions
  • Adheres to set standards and performance manages Exam security and compliance
  • Supports daily/weekly planning/capacity meetings
  • Actively seeks to maximise value for money when acquiring resources, goods or services
  • Plans and prioritises own work activities, which span across a range of different work streams, responding to changing and at times competing requirements to ensure effective delivery of responsibilities over a weekly/monthly time horizon

Role specific knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of effectively supporting the development and delivery of a large resourcing plan to meet capacity requirements
  • Must have knowledge/ experience in child protection policies and practices
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Experience or ability to provide support to large remote teams of non-permanent resource including oversight of performance
  • Knowledge of British Council EDI and recruitment policies and standards
  • Experience working in a busy operational environment delivering high levels of customer service
  • Experience working in an exams environment and knowledge of EMM – Examiner Management Module

  • Experience of working in a busy exam environment
