Technician

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Food Science or related field is a must.
• Bachelor of Technology in Food Science will be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience as a technician in a tertiary institution, research institute or relevant industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Technician in development of laboratory policies, strategies and new laboratory test procedures.
• Upgrade laboratory technologies, techniques, skills and protocols whenever required as well as maintain and repair equipment.
• Maintain laboratory inventory and coordinate purchasing of all laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Prepare and run practicals for undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
• Assisting in research activities within the department
