Medical Practitioner

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducts consultations, diagnosis and treatment of patients in line with the Health Services standards and regulatory requirements.
• Observes, assesses and teaches clinic nurses on carrying out procedures.
• Provides health advice and counselling to patients.
• Adheres to best medical practices and observes the laws and professional ethics of the profession.
• Liaises with other medical practitioners, specialists and health service providers regarding patient’s requirements such.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information handled in the line of duty.
• Performs minor procedures within the Clinic.
• Performs local and international medical examinations.
• Promotes health education in conjunction with other health professionals within the community.
• Researches and keeps up to date with medical developments, treatment and medication.
• Ensures maintenance of proper patient records by clinic.

Candidate Requirements

• Holder of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees (MBChB) or equivalent.
• Registered with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe.
• Must have an Open Practicing Certificate (OPC).
• Proven public and private practice experience.
• Proven computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet).
• Good communication skills.
