The current UNICEF-Government of Zimbabwe Country Programme of Cooperation (2016-2021) aims to support Zimbabwe to sustain and build upon the gains achieved for children during the 2012-2015 Country Programme of Cooperation. The programme focuses on improving the quality of social services, increasing access to services, and helping to build national and sub-national capacities to provide low-cost, high-impact interventions for all children, especially the most vulnerable.

How can you make a difference?

A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen within UNICEF Zimbabwe’s Human Resources Section for a committed and highly experienced Human Resources Manager. Reporting to the Deputy Representative Operations (P5), the Human Resources Manager, within their area of responsibility, is accountable for implementing HR services that enhance the capacity of their clients to deliver on their business goals and objectives. In doing so, the incumbent demonstrates the ability to anticipate HR-related needs and develop subsequent plans and solutions that align HR management with business objectives.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An Advanced University Degree in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology or another related field is required.
  • Eight years of professional experience in human resource management in an international organization and/or large corporation is required.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments are also subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
