Job Description
An exciting opportunity has risen at Khayah Cement for suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post, which has arisen in the Mechanical Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
The successful applicant will among other key challenging aspects be responsible for:
• Carrying out assigned duties in accordance with the applicable SHE Procedures and the Maintenance Management System.
• Carrying out daily, weekly and monthly and annual inspection of equipment as per Inspection Checklists.
• Carrying out lubrication of machine parts as per Lubrication Schedule
• Carrying out condition monitoring tasks like oil sampling, vibration analysis and thermography as per schedule.
• Carrying out maintenance of crushers, vibrating screens, conveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, ball mills, vertical mills, overhead cranes, rotary kiln and cement transport and packing equipment.
• Ensuring quick response and resolution of breakdowns.
• Ensuring that the quality of maintenance work carried out is of high standard with no rework.
• Filling in job cards at the end of each task in order to provide feedback on actual duration, methodology, spares used, challenges etc. to allow for continual improvement of the planning and execution cycle.
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications:
• Apprentice Trained Fitter and Turner.
• 5 years post trade experience in fitting and turning.
• At least 5 ‘O’ level passes including Mathematics.
• Experience in the cement manufacturing or mining industry an added advantage.
