Purpose of the Job

Macmillan Education – College Press is seeking to appoint an Educational Sales Representative to ensure that the organization meets/exceeds its sales target through effective promotional activities and marketing strategies.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Diploma or Degree in Education
  • 4 years teaching experience
  • Knowledge of developing and implementing large-scale and complex sales campaigns at a provincial level.
  • Experience of liaising with government officials at district and provincial level.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Class 4 Drivers license with Defensive driving skills
  • Deep understanding of the Zimbabwean education landscape.
  • Project management
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the achievement of the sales target set by visiting schools, booksellers and other clients and promoting books and brand visibility.
  • Monitor changes in the environments and trends in your regions in order to maximise sales.
  • Produce and follow a sales plan for sales visits and follow ups which ensures both efficiency and effectiveness in increasing revenue and market share.
  • Produce sales forecasts for your region on an annual basis. Review these forecasts quarterly to reflect changes in environment.
  • Keep sales data for your region e.g. number schools and bookshops, contact information for each school and send this to Head office.
  • Provide and file a fortnightly performance report (school and bookshop sales) and market intel re Manage stocks at the branch and staff deployed to branches.
  • Fill in and submit to Head office all delivery books for all deliveries to clients.
  • Personally review products and communicate findings to Head Office to ensure prompt and swift relevant responses to market sentiment.
  • Review market details, trends, changes and work diligently in your region to improve market share and further develop the market.
  • Monitor and review competitor activities in order to grow market share and ensure College Press remains the to go to brand.
  • Ensure that relationships are maintained with the Provincial and District Education, UNICEF and all other donor agencies and school heads and booksellers
  • Live by and promote the values, strategic pillars and principles of the organisation.
