Job Description

BancABC is looking for a detail-oriented and professional Back Office Clerk to join the financial institution’s Retail and Business Banking department in Mutare.

In this role, you will assist with the counting of cash and the reporting of daily cash transactions. You will also be responsible for the back-office activities and ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Your duties will include ensuring all payments, settlements and reconciliations are correct and managing the processes to clear and settle transactions.

An outstanding Back Office Clerk should also possess strong computer skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and be able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Duties And Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibility for the back-office activities ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Ensure all payments, settlements and reconciliations are correct.
Managing the processes to clear and settle transactions.
Reconciling systems by checking that the data flows from the revenue generating front office to the operations systems (operations control)
Monitoring the activity and reports of daily transactions.
Having sole responsibility for handling specific client issues related to back office operations.
Liaising with clients regarding transaction settlements, as and when required. Ensure that the Branch Suspense Accounts are reconciled daily.
Dealing with all client queries received by the bank.
Printing clients interim and account statements when required.
Ensuring that client protection rules are adhered to.
Ensure suspense accounts are followed up and long outstanding eliminated. Ensure accurate capturing of transfers.

Qualifications and Work Experience

2 ‘A’ Levels
5 ‘O’ levels including Mathematics and English
Business Degree
Minimum of 2 years of Retail banking experience or similar.
