Rangelands Regeneration is recruiting an Implementation Manager for the Herding 4 Health (H4H) Programme to support implementation of a H4H pilot in Beitbridge West, Zimbabwe. This is a 12 Months Fixed Term contract based on-site in Beitbridge,

The Herding 4 Health (H4H) Programme coordinates and enables the

implementation of the H4H Model in communal farming areas throughout

southern Africa, especially in Transfrontier Conservation Areas. The H4H Model enables a community-driven approach that empowers communities to choose nature and wildlife friendly farming practices whilst creating an enabling environment through innovation and collective action to unlock the value of land restoration and the livestock value chain. The Programme is a partnership between the Peace Parks Foundation (PPF), and Conservation International (CI), and Rangelands Regeneration is the local implementation partner in the Beitbridge West area of Beitbridge District.

H4H Implementation Manager

The H4H Implementation Manager (IM) will be responsible for the

implementation of the H4H Model in selected villages. This position will be a full-time position for the duration of the contract.

Key responsibilities:

1. Staff recruitment, contracting, and management

Manage the recruitment process for support staff for the Project, mainly herders and, if necessary, herder team leaders.
Manage the contracting of staff supported by the Project as provided for by the relevant labour laws of Zimbabwe.
Provide line management to contracted staff.
Manage employment budgets as provided for in the Project budget.
Manage staff training and skills development.
Take responsibility for staff health and safety as and where needed.
Support external consultants or professionals on the project with information, logistics, and stakeholder liaison.

2. Project Management

Ensure project deliverables as set out in the Grant Agreement are met.
Ensure project Monitoring and Evaluation is implemented as per indicators identified.
Ensure project reporting as specified by the H4H Director, Rangelands Regeneration, and Grant Agreement is met.
Ensure project budget is spent and managed responsibly and that all reporting and procurement requirements as specified by the Grant Agreement and the Finances Department of Peace Parks Foundation are met.
Ensure that appropriate communication and decision-making protocols are followed should there be a deviation from the project timelines.
Manage and maintain project assets, such as vehicles and equipment, responsibly and professionally.
Present project progress and planning to a range of audiences as and when needed.
Willingness to travel to participate in international or national meetings, events, or training.
Support continuous fundraising for Project extension and expansion.

3. Stakeholder engagement

Take responsibility for stakeholder relationships by means of regular and professional communication with relevant farmers, community leaders, government departments and employees, as well as other relevant stakeholders.
Initiate and facilitate community meetings and workshops as and when required.
Initiate and facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops.
Ensure feedback and reporting to meeting stakeholders is done timeously and professionally.
Represent the H4H Project at relevant meetings and workshops at International, National, and local level as requested by H4H Director, or RR CEO.
Implement a communication protocol for Project staff to facilitate appropriate and professional communication to all relevant stakeholders.
Facilitate site visits by donors or Programme leadership as and when required.

Qualifications and experience:

Minimum five years’ experience in a project management role in agricultural value chain development, conservation, rangeland management, animal health or livestock management.
Relevant postgraduate qualification/s
Driver’s licence (ideally vehicle and motorcycle)
Zimbabwean Citizenship
Self-driven with strong leadership and team management experience, including ability to motivate, reach consensus, set objectives, and manage performance.
Residents of Beitbridge District Wards 7, 8 and 9 will be preferred for this role, however we welcome all applicants.
