The Role

This is a 2 year fixed term opportunity, to be based in Harare, Zimbabwe. You must be a Zimbabwean national or permit holder (proof of work permit required at interview stage). Interviews to be held in mid April or early May 2023.

We are looking for someone to lead on the development and implementation of the Oxfam SAF Humanitarian strategy including humanitarian policy and advocacy work for SAF as part of the overall response to the different emergencies in line with the emergency response team mission and provide technical support on humanitarian protection and safe programming for SAF Programmes. The position will lead on the delivery DRR/Resilience building programmes, humanitarian response and campaigns, advocacy, and media work regionally, and support the delivery of SAF and global objectives in relation emergencies. The position will also have country management oversight.

Good understanding of key humanitarian issues, institutions and policy debates linked to different types of emergencies in the Region.
Experience of field-level management of complex humanitarian response programmes; and all phases of the project/program cycle, with a good understanding of context, dilemmas, challenges and ways of working.
Demonstrable skills in gender analysis in humanitarian response or preparedness programming, and a clear understanding of the practical significance of gender issues in humanitarian environments;
Demonstrable experience of policy development in relation to humanitarian response work.
Experience of identifying training needs and developing and delivering training implementation
Proven track record of policy/advocacy, influencing government, donors or other organisations through advocacy at regional and international levels.
Strong experience working in partnership with national and international NGOs and civil society organisations and networks.
