If you’re passionate about working in the legal and corporate world, EcoCash (Private) Limited is looking for you to join its Legal & Compliance Team. You will be responsible for managing the Ecocash (Private) Limited legal portfolio in a timely, consistently effective, principled, and sustainable way in order to secure optimum legal advantage for the company at all times, in compliance with domestic and international laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Drafts and/ or reviews Policies and Manuals yearly for the Legal Department and submits to the Legal Counsel
• Prepares a draft Legal Department Report quarterly for consideration and action by the Legal Counsel
• Identifies Legislation that affects the company in compliance with Zimbabwean Laws and International Standards.
• Prepares a draft position paper for submissions required by BAZ Legal Committee for consideration and action by the Legal Counsel
• Prepares a draft position paper for submissions required by BAZ Legal Committee for consideration and action by the Legal Counsel
• Prepares draft Service Level Agreements with external counsel in compliance with Law Society of Zimbabwe requirements and the laws of Zimbabwe for consideration and action by the Legal Counsel
• Liaises with the relevant Departments to gain further understanding of the claim or defence
• Liases with external counsel as appropriate within the parameter of instructions given by the Legal Counsel
• Provides Board support in the absence of the Company Secretary and Legal
Counsel as follows:
• Provides advisory support to the board on legal matters that may arise
• Ensures registration of all trademarks and/or patents for names, brands and/or inventions
• No cases of violation brought up against the business
Requirements
✓ First Degree in Law (LLBS) or equivalent.
✓ A Membership of a professional body.
✓ 4 years’ experience in Commercial and Labour Law.
✓ Analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
✓ Interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to interact at all levels within the
organisation and with external parties.
✓ Knowledge in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel or similar
