RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS

· Procuring goods, services and working efficiently to obtain the best value for money;

· Developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure cost effective procurement of materials, goods and services;

· Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance to ensure quality and timeous delivery;

· Managing procurement processes from requisitions to purchase orders until delivery;

· Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and maintaining relationships;

· Coordinating procurement activities within the department;

· Sourcing quotations from service providers and placing of orders;

· Collaborating with other departments to forecast procurement needs and in managing inventory levels;

· Preparing and maintaining accurate records, reports and documentation relating to procurement activities;

· Risk identification and mitigation in the procurement process; and

· Performing any other tasks as assigned from time to time by the Procurement Manager.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing and Supply Management;
  • A professional qualification in Purchasing and Supply Management is an added advantage;
  • Membership of a Professional Board is an added advantage;
  • Knowledge of relevant Laws, Regulations and best practices in Procurement;
  • Proficiency in Procurement software and Microsoft office suite;
  • At least three (3) years of supply chain working experience in a reputable organization;
