V.S. Nyangulu and Associates Legal Practitioners is a boutique legal advisory firm specialising in Commercial Law, Conveyancing and Estate Planning for the last 30 years. Whilst the firm has specialist areas of practice, it also provides a full range of legal services to its international and local business clients and individual clients. We are therefore seeking a legal practitioner registered with the Law Society of Zimbabwe to join our team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The individual must have at least 5 years of litigation experience in private practice or Government from the date of registration.
  • She or he must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, capable of providing legal advice and representation for corporate and individual clients on a variety of litigation and other legal matters.
  • The individual will have completed their pupilage having gained experience in drafting court papers, submitting documents to all courts as well as attending court at all levels.
  • Registration and the ability to provide conveyancing and notary services to clients is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Full spectrum of litigation work (preparing documents for, and appearing in court)Client relationship management (excellent communication skills required)
Conduct case intake phone calls from potential new clients
Client outreach
Assisting in strategic litigation cases
Legal Research for client advisory and drafting of research reports
Prepare demand letters and cease and desist notices
Contribute to the development of workflows and processes needed to scale the litigation team efficiently
Experience in Commercial legal work e.g. commercial conveyancing, contract review, advisory, and negotiation in a variety of enterprise b2b agreements is an added advantage

Qualifications

A registered lawyer with an LLB | LLBS or equivalent
A lawyer in good standing before the courts of Zimbabwe
A lawyer duly registered with the Law Society of Zimbabwe and has been in private practice or Government for a minimum of 5 years
Good oral and written communication skills in Business English
Strong interpersonal skills
A demonstrated track record of client acquisition is an added advantage
Proficiency in other Zimbabwean languages will be an advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 packages
Registration as a Notary Public and Conveyancer is an added advantage
Have some experience managing staff and carrying out administrative oversight of a law office
