ROLE PROFILE
A fast-growing Bulawayo-based manufacturing company seeking to hire an Accountant. This position plays a critical role in driving financial performance, managing risks, and supporting strategic decision-making to ensure long-term success of the company. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities including but not limited to; budgetary control, producing financial statements, management accounts and reports, managing the cash flow, and ensuring that all accounting activities adhere to statutory and financial regulatory requirements and Ensures the Company complies with new tax laws to ensure collection and remittance to the Tax Authority also Tax Returns for the company ensuring remittance to ZIMRA on time, namely QPDs, ITF12C and any other required tax returns.
Main duties include:
- Collaborates and engages with various business units in the Company to enhance its net worth.
- Reviews the trial balance regularly and ensures that all accounts are scrutinized to guarantee accuracy, integrity and completeness of financial data.
- Produces flash accounts, which show the performance of the Company against budget, mainly focusing on operating expenses.
- Produces weekly operating income and expenses report for business development meetings.
- Ensures the Company complies with new tax laws to ensure collection and remittance to the Tax Authority.
- Prepares all other Tax Returns for the company ensuring remittance to ZIMRA on time, namely QPDs, ITF12C and any other required tax returns.
- Ensure billing and invoicing accuracy
- Analyse and provide feedback on project resource utilization, budget variances and profitability
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent from a recognized Institution.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or MBL is a distinct advantage.
At least 5 years relevant post-graduate experience of which 2 years should be at senior managerial level.
Financial services sector/manufacturing industry experience is an added advantage.
Experience in Tax Returns for the company ensuring remittance to ZIMRA on time, namely QPDs, ITF12C and any other required tax returns is an added advantage
Experience in managing a diverse team of finance professionals is essential.
