Batoka Africa is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Finance department, you will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing the purchasing process for our business units.
Key responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential suppliers/vendors for goods and service
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness
- Create and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Preparing purchase orders and contracts for approval.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with various departments to forecast their procurement needs
- Negotiating price changes with suppliers when costs fluctuate significantly.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to streamline processes and maximize efficiency.
- Coordinating with other departments within Batoka Africa for the purchase of specialized materials or equipment.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations regarding purchasing procedures and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, Accounting or a related field
- Proven experience as a Buyer, Procurement Officer or in a similar role
- Clean class 4 Drivers license a must
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Familiarity with the Tourism industry is desirable
