Job Overview

Pharmacy Homecare is a service that delivers ongoing medicine supplies and where necessary associated care, direct to the patients home or nominated address.

The Homecare Medicine Team at North West Anglia Foundation Trust (NWAFT) currently manage the medication supply for over 2800 patients who have been referred for the Homecare service by the clinical teams within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and methodical individual to join our friendly Homecare Medicines Team at NWAFT. The job is office based and the nature of the work requires high levels of attention to detail.

Applicants will need to hold an NVQ level 2 qualification or equivalent in Pharmacy Services or completing within the next 3 months.                  

The role is varied and includes ordering medicines for patients, managing invoices, keeping electronic databases up to date and liaising with patients and Homecare Medicines Providers.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or completing within next 3 months
  • GCSE Maths, English and Science (or equivalent)
  • Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of Hospital pharmacy
Desirable criteria
  • Experience or demonstrable knowledge of homecare services
  • Experience or demonstrable knowledge of invoice matching

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Knowledge of Medicines legislation for area of work
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of ASCribe Pharmacy System

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise own workload effectively
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
