V.S. Nyangulu and Associates Legal Practitioners is a boutique legal advisory firm specialising in Commercial Law, Conveyancing and Estate Planning for over 30 years. Whilst the firm has specialist areas of practice, it also provides a full range of legal services to its international and local business clients and individual clients. We are therefore seeking a Conveyancer who is registered with the Law Society of Zimbabwe to join our team.

The individual must be a registered Legal Practitioner, Conveyancer and Notary Public with at least 5 years of work experience in commercial and property conveyancing. She/he must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, capable of providing legal advice and representation for corporate and individual clients on a variety of commercial law, property law (conveyancing) and other legal matters. The individual will have completed their pupilage having gained experience in drafting notarial deeds, conveyancing documents, court documents, submitting the same to the deeds registry and to all courts as well as attending court at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Full spectrum of conveyancing, commercial law and debt recovery work (preparing documents and notarial deeds for registration), report writing and client advisory services.
  • Litigation experience in the Civil Courts
  • Client relationship management (excellent communication skills required)
  • Conduct case intake phone calls from potential new clients
  • Assisting in liaising with the Deeds Registry, Surveyor General’s office, Zimra, City of Harare, Sheriff of the High Court and any other public office linked to the work carried out
  • Legal Research for client advisory and drafting of research reports and litigation
  • Experience in Intellectual Property and Commercial legal work including protection of IP, contract drafting/review, business law advisory, and negotiation in a variety of enterprise b2b agreements is an added advantage

Qualifications

  • A qualified lawyer with an LLB | LLBS or equivalent (registered Legal Practitioner)
  • A lawyer in good standing before the courts of Zimbabwe
  • A lawyer duly registered with the Law Society of Zimbabwe (registered Conveyancing and Notary Public)
  • Has been in private practice t for a minimum of 5 years working in a conveyancing firm/department
  • Good oral and written communication skills in Business English
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A demonstrated track record of client acquisition is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in other Zimbabwean languages will be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 packages
  • Have some experience carrying out administrative oversight of a law office is an added advantage
