DUTIES
The Senior Driver under the supervision of the Public Health Administrative Specialist (Admin Specialist) The incumbent safely and efficiently operates an unarmored U.S. Government-owned or procured motor vehicle to transport passengers within the city and the surrounding areas. The incumbent is responsible for the coordination of transportation requests for Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) staff with the ICASS General Services Office Motorpool, chauffeuring CDC vehicles and outsourcing to commercial sources for unique requests, for within and outside town travel. Performs messenger/delivery duties in support of the CDC Zimbabwe Office.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Three years professional driving experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must have good knowledge of driving including defensive driving, traffic and road safety regulations, vehicle operations and maintenance. Must be familiar with host country traffic legislation. Knowledge of the city and country routes and traffic patterns. Must have motor vehicle fleet administrative knowledge.
Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary education is required.

LANGUAGE:
English – Level 3 – Good working knowledge; speaking, reading & writing
Shona/Ndebele – Level 3 – Good working knowledge; speaking, reading & writing
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have the ability to organize trip and work schedules, prioritize conflicting requests, and efficiently schedule requests from program staff. Must have the ability to read maps and plan driving routes. Must have good communication skills, and an ability to handle all employees with professionalism and discretion. Must be able to perform basic vehicle inspection. Must have basic computer skills to complete data entry, maintain reports and for communication purposes. Must have basic numerical skills to estimate the fuel consumption and/or need for trips. Must hold a valid, current Class 2 driver’s license.
