We are a leading producer, distributor and exporter of bananas, avocados and other fruit as well as apples and flowers in Zimbabwe and are continuing the growth and development of our production and distribution capacity. Our vision is to be a leader in all aspects of our chosen areas of operation. We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the role of Accounting Officer for our avocado division and joint ventures. You will be responsible for collecting, analysing, recording, and reporting the financial data of the division.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Preparing monthly management accounts and variance analysis
2. Preparing Burma Valley Avocado Management Report
3. Preparing/updating the monthly CAPEX schedule
4. Preparing the monthly toolkit files
5. Resolving statutory and management accounts review queries.
6. Depreciation and amortisation journals
7. Trade debtors reconciliations
8. Other debtors reconciliations
9. Depreciation and amortisation journals
10. Fixed assets management and reconciliations
11. Prepare statutory returns (QPD) and review VAT returns
12. Review and check the weekly invoice tracking
13. Preparing the weekly cash managers
14. Conduct and supervise monthly stocktakes
15. Budgeting and forecasting
16. Monthly farm visits and spot checks
17. Assist Commercial Department in contracts and meetings
18. Prepare the weekly harvesting and packshed report
19. Preparing individual and consolidated Joint Venture management accounts
20. Circulating the individual management accounts to the Joint Venture partners on or before the 15th of each month
21. Resolving Joint Venture partners queries on accounts and any other issues
22. Any other tasks as and when may be assigned from time to time
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Accounting Qualification i.e. Bachelor of Accountancy, Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, Part CIS, ACCA, CIMA, etc
Little to no experience.
Ability to quickly learn to execute new things.
Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
