Cyber Security Engineer

We are looking to hire a cyber security engineer with an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of cybersecurity methodologies. Cyber security engineers are expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines.

Cyber Security Engineer Responsibilities:

• Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the university’s data, systems, and networks.
• Troubleshooting security and network problems.
• Responding to all system and/or network security breaches.
• Ensuring that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
• Participating in the change management process.
• Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
• Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments at the university.

Qualifications and Experience

• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Security/Data Analytics/Information Systems.
• The candidate should have a minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience in information security or cyber security.
• The candidate must be Sophos Firewall Administration Certified. Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification, and Cyber Security Forensics Certification are added advantages.
• The successful candidate should have the ability to perform Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), User Behaviour Analysis (UBA) and should possess a thorough understanding of the Defense-in-Depth security model, COBIT, and Data Protection Act – Zimbabwe.
• The candidate is also expected to be highly knowledgeable in information security standards and procedures, operating
  systems, databases and cyber security Issues and principles, and authentication, authorization, and access control methods.
