Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not-for-profit human development organisation which is registered as a Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 17/22). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high-impact, integrated health interventions to the communities we serve, while working with and strengthening existing institutions.
The Accelerated and Comprehensive HIV Care for Epidemic Control in Zimbabwe (ACCE) project’s objective is to complement the government of Zimbabwe (GOZ)’s efforts towards epidemic control by targeting testing to efficiently identify PLHIV, ensuring all newly diagnosed PLHIV are immediately linked to treatment, and all PLHIV on treatment have ready access to antiretroviral therapy (ART), are retained on treatment, and remain virally suppressed. The program is being implemented in 9 districts in Midlands (Gweru, Kwekwe, Mberengwa and Gokwe South) and in Manicaland (Makoni, Mutare, Chipinge, Mutasa and Buhera).
Basic Function
The Records Clerk (RC) is a member of the ACCE Project at the Facility and District level responsible for folder cleaning, ensuring proper documentation in registers, filing, QI Corner updating, data collection and data consolidation meetings. The RC supports a cluster of facilities in a district as a way of ensuring data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in reporting across all facility reporting systems. The RC reports directly to the District SIE Officer.
Job Description
The RC will assist the Health Facility level staff in carrying out the following duties: Updating of registers, E.H.R, patient care booklets (green books); Assist in folder cleaning exercises in preparation for the Folder Reviews; Filing OI/ART Care Booklets in respective cohorts; Facilitating updating the QI Corners for their respective Cluster; Assist with data collection and verification before submission to the district for sites under their respective Cluster; Support implementation of data quality assurance strategies including routine data quality assessments using a standard ZHI Data verification tool and provide feedback for decision-making and corrective actions; Participate in folder reviews for the respective cluster; Participate in data consolidation meetings; Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to work with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project and facility staff; Proficient computer skills for data collection and word processing software; Attitude for learning and enhancing skills; Able to troubleshoot problems in collecting and entering data; Good reading and writing skills; Proficiency in desktop software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook); Understanding of HIV CARE and Treatment Indicators and expectations; Upholds patient information confidentially; Work independently as well as cooperatively with team members; Willing to ride a motorbike.
Qualifications And Experience
A diploma/ degree in Nursing, in HIV Testing and Counseling, mathematics, statistics, public health, demography or social sciences is desirable; Conversant with relevant computer programs a requirement; Demonstrated experience capturing HIV program data in DHIS2/DATIM; Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.; Experience with MOHCC reporting is an added advantage.
