BARMAN/BARTENDER: UZ VN HOTEL AND LEISURE PVT LTD (1 POST)

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to:
 Sell various types of beverages according to standards
 Ensure correct prices are used at all times and proper billing done
 Welcome guests and sits them in the bar in order to direct and inform them of what food and beverage the hotel has to offer
 Serve guests in accordance with set standards
 Ensure that guest bills are correctly compiled and presented to them and payment collected in terms of established procedures
 Ensure bar is adequately stocked
 Inform the Food &Beverages Supervisor on the need for replenishment according to standards
 Ensure that all beverage being served the customers is the correct order, quality, quantity and that the presentation is as per set standards
 Ensure that all bar furniture (tables and chairs), floors and surfaces, service stocks and equipment are kept clean and in good state and any faults reported to the Food and Beverage Supervisor.
 Maintain a good display of available beverages
 Prepare cocktails according to standards
 Ensure daily stock taking for the bar
 Ensure that problems or complaints are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction and/or referred to management
 Communicate effectively with customers during service
 Ensure suggestive selling is an ongoing process
 Learn the fire and safety procedures and how to operate the firefighting equipment
 Develop a strong knowledge about the hotel surroundings and inform the guests at check in and during their stay
 Account for ullages and breakages
 Report any irregularities or unusual circumstances to Management
 Develop strong knowledge about the hotel and its surroundings and inform bar patrons
 Maintains reorder levels
 Communicate with bar patrons and takes note of their requirements
 Improve revenue generation at the bar by promoting new product ranges
 Ensures compliance with the dress code
 Ensure statutory compliance e.g age restriction
 Carry out any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Experience

 Certificate in Food & Beverage Services /Wine &Spirits Education are added advantages
 At least 5“O” levels including English Language
 Fluency in English Language
 knowledge of a foreign language would be a distinct advantage
 Computer literacy
 At least one year experience as a Barman/Bartender
