Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
Clean all kitchen utensils, equipment, crockery and food preparation areas.
Provide waiter service duties in Dining Halls, restaurant and during events or functions
Clean floors, work surfaces, Chef’s Pantry, Store Rooms, Cold Rooms and bin areas.
Ensure that the kitchen sinks are clean and no dirty water is stagnant.
Correct uses of cleaning detergents issued and perform duties carefully so as to reduce unnecessary breakages of University property.
Unload food items and equipment deliveries from the delivery vans.
Prepare vegetables and other simple dishes.
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Senior Cook.
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate in Professional Cookery (HEXCO), in Culinary Arts or Certificate in Food and Beverage Services
A minimum of 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
At least 1-year experience as a Kitchen Porter or Waiter/Waitress in the Catering Industry.
