Position Summary
The Casual Radiographer will be supported by OPHID and seconded to radiology unit at MOHCC OI/ART departments and/or central hospitals. The Casual radiographer will be assigned to work at the heath facility under the guidance and technical supervision of the Public Health Officer. Works within the guidance and confines of Public Health Officer, in accordance with Zimbabwe’s radiographers code of conduct and Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (AHPCZ).
Specific Responsibilities
To perform examinations resulting in images of diagnostic value using different imaging modalities which include; X-Rays, Ultrasound Scans; Ward Radiography and Mammography. Effective, patient examinations and management, and efficient use of resources; Monitors emergency drug levels and replenishes as and when necessary; Performs any other duty within the purview of this post as assigned by Public Health Officer/ designate from time-to-time; Periodic inspection of OPHID’s assets and properties and ensuring that they are tagged for safeguarding the assets and maintenance of the assets. Controls and conducts periodic stock taking; Attends to machines minor repairs and reports major faults for expert attention; Reports: support the production of all X-ray department reports as required by OPHID, Public health officer and the Radiology unit on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Person Specification
Diploma/Degree in Radiography or equivalent qualification; At least 2 years working experience in a similar position; Registered with Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (AHPCZ). Experience working within the guidance and confines of Public Health Officer, in accordance with Zimbabwe’s radiographers code of conduct; Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Planning, Outlook), and online collaboration technologies.
