DUTIES
This job description is for a Facility Management Truck Driver who is responsible for safely and efficiently operating U.S. Government-owned or leased trucks, large cargo vehicles or other vehicles. The incumbent is also responsible for safe handling, transporting and storage of fuel, water, and expendable and non-expendable items. The position is in the Facility Management Office and under the supervision of the Residential Supervisor. The incumbent will make deliveries of water and fuel to mission proprieties. Assist maintenance technicians in carrying out their assigned tasks by performing basic carpentry, masonry, electrical, painting, and plumbing tasks which do not require journeyman level knowledge. This position will carry cash to make purchases for equipment and supplies as needed. This position will be required to work as a trades helper as needed.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
Must have a valid, current level II driver’s license for a minimum of five (5) years. In additional to one (1) year of experience in manual labor or warehouse work is required.

Completion of secondary school is required

LANGUAGE:
English: Level 3 – Good working knowledge; speaking, reading & writing
Shona: Level 1 – Rudimentary verbal skills
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to physically be able to perform loading and unloading. Must be able to handle heavy objects smoothly and efficiently. Must be able to able to lift a maximum of 51 lbs. (23kg) under OSHA standards. Ability to use warehouse tools and safely operate equipment such as fuel dispenser, water dispensers, forklifts, hand trolleys, electronic lifters etc.
Must be able to diagnose and handle preventive maintenance and assist Facility Management technicians as needed. Ability to detect vehicle and equipment defects and report them immediately to authorities concerned. Must be able to perform assign tasks in all types of weather, and environmental weather conditions to include at times severe cold, extreme heat, wet or dry weather conditions, and high winds. Must have a valid, current license and in accordance with local laws.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Understanding of the local driving conditions in order to navigate heavy traffic. Understanding of local laws governing handling gasoline and diesel fuel.
