Job Title: Graduate Intern (Child Protection and Advocacy) x 2
Location: Nyanga & Mbire (Primary location)

Purpose of the Position:
The Child Protection and Advocacy Intern will support the Area Program Sector Leads in integrating child protection interventions across all sectors and programs. The incumbent will engage with the community through supporting community local groups and initiatives on child protection and advocacy. Interns will gain practical Child Protection policy analysis and advocacy experience while making a positive impact in the lives of children.

Major responsibilities:

Work closely with the Sponsorship team in monitoring child protection issues for registered children and others
Facilitate the implementation of ITAW campaign and other commemorations at district level
Ensure Child Protection integration in all AP Technical Programs
Assist in the rollout of Advocacy and Child Protection models
Work in liaison with the Department of Social Development in all Child Protection interventions Attend/organize child protection related workshops and trainings in the AP and at district level
Support and provide guidance to all community Child Protection groups
Perform other work related outputs as requested by the supervisor
Developing work plans and writing reports and stories of change
Represent the AP in District Child Protection Working Groups

Knowledge and skills required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
Minimum of 1-year experience in Child Protection programming
Basic knowledge of the Case management system,
Knowledge of child protection issues, policies, and relevant legislation is a plus.
Demonstrate understanding of gender-based violence and protection issues
High level computer including office packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
Good interpersonal verbal communication skills.
