Reporting to: Legal and Corporate Manager
Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for providing guidance on corporate governance matters, developing governance policies and programs, representing the Agency in legal proceedings as well as providing legal advice on legal matters.
Qualifications, experience, attributes and competences
· Bachelor of Laws (LLBS) Degree or equivalent.
· At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a public sector entity.
· An understanding of the legal system in Zimbabwe.
· Knowledge of various statutes including a thorough understanding of the Census and Statistics Act (Cap 10:29)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong negotiation skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Representing the Agency on legal matters with special expertise on labour issues and contracts.
· Drafting and negotiating contracts entered into between the Agency and other parties.
· Drafting various legal documents and papers in respect of pieces of legislation administered by the Agency.
· Working with and providing advice to all Divisions to ensure that business operations are in compliance with applicable laws consistent with good corporate governance.
· Interpreting Labour laws.
