To support business systems and processes, perform systems monitoring and maintenance and provide first line support for customer queries and requests sent through the Service Desk and other platforms.

DUTIES

• Function as the go-to person for the end users on support on the Business Systems
• Provide IT system support to staff, including (but not limited to) fielding general IT-related questions and requests
• Analyse and define specifications for the enhancements in performance of the existing Business Systems
• Generate custom reports as required by the Business
• Provide support within assigned sub-section in Technology Services department.
• Function as a resource for questions, concerns, and/or issues regarding IT system performance. Proposing value adding recommendations for the improvement.
• Report on system availability status on monitoring platforms
• Perform daily system health checks and provide support or escalate in the event of issues.
• When required, liaise with 3rd parties to resolve issues.
• Ensure monitoring system sending appropriate and actionable alerts and notifications.
• Escalate system performance issues to relevant IT or Business support teams.
• Provide first line support for customer queries and requests through Service-Desk.
• Function as go-to person for providing technical assistance and support related to all issues logged within Service-Desk.
• Responsible for answering queries and addressing system and
user issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Escalate to appropriate Tech support unit for query/issue resolution.
• Walk customer through problem-solving process.
• Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
• Help in developing end user training material and provide regular information regarding system and business changes (with focus on Service-Desk) through line manager.
• Assist HC with technical training of End-users in use of IT Systems when required.
• Walk End-users through any challenges they may have navigating the Service-Desk and any other IT systems.

Qualifications and Work Experience

• 2 years of IT experience or working in an IT Department.
• Honors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,

Job Related Knowledge
• Knowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management system
