Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above-mentioned posts that have
arisen within the organisation.
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
- Rendering and promoting cost-effective and safe quality patient care in accordance with Doctors orders, hospital standards, and policies.
- Direct and indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients for assessing, planning, and supervising the implementation of care to meet the needs of the patient.
- Preparing patients for the operating theatre.
- Checking dangerous drug supply daily.
- Ordering drugs and sundries from pharmacy stores and ensuring stock is controlled and managed.
- Supervising Health Care Assistants and orientation of new members of staff.
- Maintaining general cleanliness of the ward and proper care of equipment.
- Writing reports for each patient’s condition.
- Charging ward stocks, drugs, and sundries as soon as they are used.
- Promoting and maintaining public relations with patients and relatives.
- Participating in unit quality improvement programs, safety awareness, and risk management.
- Keep up-to-date with evolving policies, Infection Prevention & Control standards, and procedures.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS.
- An RGN registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe.
- Experience working in the Intensive Care Unit is an added advantage.
- An opportunity to undertake a Diploma in Intensive and Coronary Care Nursing.
- Two years post-qualification work experience.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- Exceptional customer focus and service delivery. Professional flexibility in working hours whilst supporting daily business hours.
- Capacity to improve systems and processes to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Capacity to clearly present information either written or verbal and proficient computer skills.
