We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and updating the wine list in line with customer preferences, planning and attending wine events, conducting wine sales and business development activities, and leading wine tastings with guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creating and updating the wine list in line with customer preferences
- Planning and attending wine promotion, wine dinners, and wine tasting events
- Ongoing colleague training and development on wine knowledge
- Conducting wine sales and business development activities
- Coordinating wine events and becoming a recognized wines distributor of choice in Harare and within the Zimbabwean region
- Building a network of other talented food and beverage professionals and fostering collaborations for events and distribution opportunities for business development
- Leading wine tastings with guests
- Conducting monthly wine inventory with cost control
- Conducting monthly stock take and inventory management
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Tourism and Hospitality or related field with an appreciation of marketing
- Previous experience as a Wine Sommelier or work in a Five Star restaurant as a customer relationship manager
- Must be able to sell wines and conduct product promotions
- Passion for teamwork
- Extensive knowledge of wines and other beverages
- Excellent customer service
REMUNERATION:
Basic Salary of 450USD
