Job Description
The Security Operations Controller will be responsible for conducting primary contract risk assessment, attend and coordinate field visits, participate in enforcing security and safety procedures, and provide sound and timely advice to management on safety and security matters. The Security Operations Controller is committed to implementing and maintaining the highest standards of security and contingency planning in order to ensure the safety of all security matters pertaining to contract, guards and guards welfare.
Duties and Responsibilities
– Reports to Contracts Administrator
– Ensure the implementation of safety and security policies and standard operating procedures across existing and new contracts
– Interview, recruit & deploy security personnel
– Maintain database of security personnel
– Attend to incidents, resolve incidents crisis and write incident reports
– Ensure training of recruited security personnel meets the required standard
– Carry out parades to address security personnel on matters of interest
– Mitigate risks by ensuring that security personnel is properly informed, trained and continuously assessed & appraised for improved performance
– Resolve security personnel disputes
– Account for all deployed equipment, kitting, and security tools
– Monitor national, social, and political and security issues and inform senior staff of issues that affect, or may affect service delivery
– Processing reliable risk profiling for existing and new contracts
Qualifications and Experience
– Ex-force. (ex-ZRP preferred)
– Diploma in Security Management or equivalent
– 3-5 years’ experience in administrative or operational support functions within the private or public security services sector
– Ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
– Clean Class 4 driver’s license. Class 3 added advantage.
