Applications are invited from self-motivated and energetic candidates to fill in the following opportunities that have arisen at National Handling Services.

LEGAL ASSISTANT (Based in Harare)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Liaises with Senior Management in drafting of board meetings agenda
Preparation of Board packs in liaison with senior management ensuring timely distribution to members of Board.
Coordinates board meetings, AGMs and other board related functions as assigned.
Ensuring utmost confidentiality is maintained on all correspondence.
Compiling matters arising from main board meetings and advising concerned managers for their action.
Drafting of board meetings minutes and resolutions for review by the Company Secretary.
Designing and implementing a filing system for all board reports, attendance registers, declaration of interests, minutes, resolutions and correspondence for ease of reference.
Computation of Board fees and sitting allowances and facilitate their processing
Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts and recommending amendments.
Contract management by ensuring that the contract database is constantly updated and managed.
Coordinating appointments, including all correspondence and logistics necessary.
Liaising with external counsel and readying materials for trial proceedings including documents, evidence and verifying factual information.
Undertaking legal risk analysis and review, drafting of company level legal risk register and recommending appropriate action
Records Management and maintenance of a case log and/or file for reference and review.
Advises departments on the legal matters as and when requested.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Company Secretary.

Required qualifications and experience:

Bachelor of Laws (Honors) Degree (LLB) Degree
Must be registered as a Legal Practitioner
At least 3 years working experience
Company secretarial technical skills will be an added advantage.
