Job Description

The Catholic University of Zimbabwe is a leading academic institution committed to providing high-quality education to students in Zimbabwe. We are looking for two Systems Developers to join our team.

The Systems Developers will be responsible for developing and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable code using Laravel framework, Python, and Flutter.

They will collaborate with the design team to build responsive web applications, optimize database schemas, integrate third-party APIs and services, and troubleshoot and debug application issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code using Laravel framework, Python, and Flutter.
  • Collaborate with the design team to build responsive web applications.
  • Optimize database schemas, queries, and data structures.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance functionality and improve user experience.
  • Troubleshoot and debug application issues, provide timely resolutions, and optimize application performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in web development and recommend improvements to the codebase.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver projects within deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Fullstack Laravel Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of Laravel-based projects.
  • Proficiency in PHP, Laravel framework, Flutter, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as Livewire, Vue.js, React, or Angular.
  • Strong understanding of MVC architectural patterns and RESTful API development.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and package managers (e.g., Composer, npm).
  • Solid understanding of database systems, particularly MySQL.
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)
