Job Description
The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) is a regulatory body in Zimbabwe responsible for overseeing the production and marketing of tobacco.
The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill in the Graduate Trainee position that has arisen within the company. Successful candidates will undergo an intensive graduate trainee programme for a period of 24 Months and will be based at TIMB Head office in Harare.
The Graduate Trainee – Information Technology will be responsible for working with the IT team to ensure the smooth running of the company’s computer systems and ensuring that the company’s IT infrastructure is well-maintained. The successful candidate will undergo an intensive graduate trainee programme for a period of 24 months.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the IT team to ensure the smooth running of the company’s computer systems.
- Analysing and developing technology platforms partnerships and internal systems
- Implementing technology solutions to meet current of the board
- Supporting developing business systems according to set standards and policies
- Ensuring security in the development of business systems
- Tracking, analysing and monitoring technology performance metrics
- Keeping abreast of new trends and best practises in the technology landscape
- Ensuring all systems are satisfying business or user requirements
- Database administration
- Assisting with hardware and software installations and maintenance
- Participate in IT-related projects.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the IT field.
- Participate in the graduate trainee programme.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering.
- Aged below 25 years.
- Self-driven and results-oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Analytical problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Numerical reasoning.
- Sound programming skills (PHP frameworks, Java, PL/SQL, Swift or Android, Web Services).
- Knowledge of and practical experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning is a distinct advantage.
