Freda Rebecca Gold Mine is dedicated to maintaining high standards of excellence in all aspects of its operations. Freda Rebecca Gold Mine is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join its team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of engineering maintenance activities at the mine. The Senior Planning Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive engineering maintenance plan for the mine.
- Oversee the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and shutdown maintenance.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Manage the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) on an ERP or EAM systems approach to optimize maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of maintenance activities against key performance indicators and develop and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage the engineering budget and control costs by optimizing maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including other departments and external stakeholders, including suppliers and contractors.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in engineering maintenance processes and systems and lead or contribute to improvement projects.
- Provide technical advice and support to the Head of Engineering and other stakeholders on engineering maintenance matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum B.Sc (Hons) Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree.
- 5 years of experience at Planning Engineer Level and at least 3 years’ experience at Head of Engineering Planning Level.
- Experience should have been gained in a Mining or Heavy Industrial Environment with at least 3 years at an underground trackless mine.
- Must be a member of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers and be registered with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe.
- Membership of, and/or registration with any other international recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.
- Diploma (or higher qualification) in Project Management is an added advantage.
- Demonstrable knowledge in setting up and managing computerized maintenance management systems on ERP or EAM systems approach.
